Why Dinosaurs Are the Ultimate Childhood Companion I loved the Rifts books (even if the rules were, to be blunt, broken, especially once the 'World Books' got into the double-digits), but the ongoing storyline being told thru the rulebooks was why I kept buying them, even tho I didn't have a gaming group to I never really "got" the Edition Wars & such conflict. It is/was one of the earliest, and longest running, RPG series for the computer (mainly). It's central theme revolved around an Earthling being brought to an alternate dimension to save it from some threat, . Transdimensional Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is probably the greatest RPG sourcebook of all time. It uses the same mechanics as NightBane, Palladium Fantasy RPG, Heroes Unlimited, Ninjas & Superspies, etc. Labels: science fiction RPG Gaming Baring that you could look into the newest entries to the rifts universe, either Rifts:Ultimate Edition or Chaos Earth which is set during the emergence of the Rifts. I think anyone who is a role-player will like this new and improved version of the original Rifts role-playing game. This "newness" of this release is more along the lines of a Robotech Original RPG/Sentinels RPG, Rifts/Rifts Ultimate Edition, and D&D 3.0/3.5 change. Palladium doesn't plan to change RIFTS to a 2nd edition, but since they did desire to update some rules and setting information they did release an updated main-book (RIFTS Ultimate Edition) and that was all they needed. So it is compatible with the entire Palladium line.
